Patronal feast of St. George Church in Phnom Penh

Today, on the day of commemorating the Great Martyr George the Victory-bearer, Orthodox believers in Phnom Penh have several reasons to celebrate.

This year, the patronal feast of the Church of Martyr George the Victory-bearer in the capital of Cambodia was marked by an important event in the life of the parish: the fifth anniversary of the construction of the church. Moreover, yesterday marked the 24th anniversary of the monastic vows of the church ‘s dean, Hieromonk Paisios (Ipate), the acting Dean of the Cambodian District of the Diocese of Thailand.

The dean of the Church of the Martyr Panteleimon in Sihanoukville, Priest Roman Postnikov, with his family and parishioners, came to prayerfully share the joy of the feast with the parish of St. George Church.

The agreement was made between the Government of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture, the Department of Religious Affairs, and the parish of the Patriarchal Exarchate of Southeast Asia of the Russian Orthodox Church in Myanmar.

Meeting of the leadership of the Department of Religious Affairs of the Ministry of Culture of Thailand with the Secretary of the Thai Diocese, Archimandrite Oleg (Cherepanin)

The leadership of the Department of Religious Affairs of the Ministry of Culture of Thailand met with the Secretary of the Thai Diocese, Archimandrite Oleg (Cherepanin) and a number of employees of the Diocese in the Thai Diocese.

Khmer Baptism at St George’s Temple Phnom Penh

April 29, Friday of Bright Week, in St. George’s Church in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, In Hartey was baptized with the name John, in honor of the Apostle John the Theologian.

The newly baptized man underwent catechesis under the guidance of the rector of the temple, hieromonk Paisios (Ipate).

Tour of the Orthodox Church for the people of Thailand

On April 27, Wednesday of Bright Week, Hieromonk Micah (Phiasayawong) led a tour of St. Nicholas Cathedral in Bangkok for Thais interested in Orthodoxy.

Father Micah also answered the questions of the excursion participants and presented the group with an icon of St. Nicholas, Archbishop of Myra, the Wonderworker, after whom the Cathedral of the Diocese of Thailand bears his name.

After the tour, the guests of the cathedral continued to communicate with Father Micah over a celebratory tea party.
