Bishop Pitirim of Jakarta visited Bogoroditsky Zhitenny Monastery
On June 9, Bishop Pitirim of Jakarta, Vicar of the Diocese of Singapore, visited Bogoroditsky Zhitenny Monastery in the city of Ostashkov (Diocese of Tver).
The sisters and pupils of the monastery met Vladyka on the shore of the lake and then showed him the territory of the monastery, residential buildings and the school.
Vladyka Pitirim talked with the children about faith, kindness, and purity. He also talked with the monastery’s inhabitants about serving God and missionary work in the distant hot exotic countries of South-East Asia, about the local people, their desire for Orthodoxy, customs and life, and also shared funny stories about monkeys, monitor lizards and parrots.

On April 13, 2025, the 6th Sunday of Great Lent, Palm Sunday (the Feast of the Entry of the Lord into Jerusalem), the Patriarchal Exarch of Southeast Asia, Metropolitan Sergiy of Singapore and Southeast Asia, celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Holy Dormition Church in Singapore. On the eve of the feast, His Eminence served the All-Night Vigil.
