Bishop Pitirim of Jakarta has finished his Archpastoral visit to Laos
On August 13-18, 2022, with the blessing of Patriarchal Exarch of South-East Asia, Metropolitan Sergiy of Singapore and South-East Asia, administrator of the Diocese of Thailand, Bishop Pitirim of Jakarta, vicar of the Singapore Diocese of the Patriarchal Exarchate of South-East Asia of the Russian Orthodox Church, payed an archpastoral visit to the Lao People’s Democratic Republic.
During his stay in Vientiane, Bishop Pitirim performed a moleben at the Russian Center for Science and Culture and met with Russian people living in the capital of Laos. During the visit, Vladyka also visited the main sights of Vientiane.
With the assistance of the Russian Embassy in Laos, Bishop Pitirim met with the leadership of the state authorities of the Lao PDR, during which issues of opening an Orthodox parish in Vientiane were discussed.
