Bishop Pitirim of Jakarta Attended Interfaith Reception in Singapore
On September 15, 2023, with the blessing of the Patriarchal Exarch of South-East Asia, Metropolitan Sergiy of Singapore, Bishop Pitirim of Jakarta attended an interfaith reception organized by the Singapore Interfaith Harmony Centre in conjunction with the Indian Muslim Social Services Association (IMSSA) and the Tzu Chi Humanistic Youth Centre. The theme of the event was “Reimagining Harmony: Braving Our Future(s) Together’”.
Among the invitees was the guest of honour of the event, Mr. Alvin Tan,Minister of State, Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth (MCCY), Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI). Representatives of various faiths, public figures, leaders of youth associations, academics and researchers were also present.
At dinner, the guests discussed issues of cooperation between religious communities in Singapore to strengthen friendship and good-neighborly relations between different faiths represented in Singapore.
