On April 27, 2024, Lazarus Saturday, the Patriarchal Exarch for South-East Asia, Metropolitan Sergiy of Singapore and South-East Asia, celebrated Divine Liturgy at the parish of Great Martyr George the Victory-Bearer in George Town, Malaysia.
Concelebrating with His Eminence was Hegumen Pavel (Khokhlov), rector of the Church of the Archangel Michael in Kuala Lumpur.
At the end of the service, the Archpastor addressed the parishioners with a sermon on today’s Gospel event – the miracle of the Resurrection of Righteous Lazarus, the upcoming Entry of the Lord into Jerusalem, and the upcoming Passion Week. Vladyka also called on the faithful to be spiritually vigilant before the Great Feast of the Resurrection of Christ.
After the Divine service, the Honorary Consul of the Russian Federation on the island of Penang, Mr. Theo Seng Lii, gave a luncheon, during which there was communication with the parishioners.
