Patriarchal Exarch of Southeast Asia Took Part in International Action “Garden of Memory” Dedicated to 80th Anniversary of Victory in Great Patriotic War
On May 7, 2025, the international action “Garden of Memory”, dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, was held at the Russian Embassy in Singapore.
Taking part in the commemoration ceremony were: Patriarchal Exarch for Southeast Asia, Metropolitan Sergiy of Singapore and Southeast Asia; Russian Ambassador to Singapore Nikolay Kudashev and his wife; Bishop Pitirim of Jakarta, vicar of the Diocese of Singapore, as well as Russian compatriots living in Singapore.
As part of the action, an araucaria was planted on the territory of the diplomatic mission – an evergreen coniferous tree, serving a symbol of the eternal memory of the feat of the heroes who fought for peace and freedom.
In his address, Mr. Ambassador noted the special importance of passing on the memory of the ancestors’ feat to future generations, calling the planting of the tree a modest but significant contribution to this relay of memory.
