On the 31st Sunday after Pentecost, Patriarchal Exarch of Southeast Asia Concelebrated Liturgy with Metropolitan Pavel of Manila and Hanoi at Resurrection Cathedral in Khanty-Mansiysk

On January 11, 2026, the 31st Sunday after Pentecost, after the Nativity of Christ, the Divine Liturgy was celebrated at the Resurrection Cathedral in the city of Khanty-Mansiysk. The service was dedicated to the 70th anniversary of Metropolitan Pavel of Manila and Hanoi. On the eve of the feast, the Patriarchal Exarch co-served Vladyka Pavel at the All-Night Vigil.

The Divine Liturgy was led by seven hierarchs: Metropolitan Kirill of Kazan and Tatarstan; Metropolitan Sergiy of Singapore and Southeast Asia; Metropolitan Pavel of Manila and Hanoi (Head of the Khanty-Mansi Metropolis); Metropolitan Evgeny of Yekaterinburg and Verkhoturye; Archbishop Nikolai of Salekhard and Novy Urengoy; Bishop Mstislav of Tikhvin and Lodeynoye Pole; and Bishop Mikhail of Yugra and Nyagan.

Concelebrating with the hierarchs were: Abbot Joseph (Kriukov), acting head of the St. Petersburg Metochion of the Transfiguration Valaam Monastery; Hieromonk Kirill (Korytko), Secretary of the Tatarstan Metropolis; Archpriest Alexander Menzelintsev, rector of the Church of the Icon of the Mother of God “Sedmiezernaya” in Mytishchi; Hieromonk Kornily (Molev), Secretary of the Philippine-Vietnamese Diocese; and clergy of the Khanty-Mansi Metropolis. The deacons were led by Protodeacon Georgy Stefanov, a cleric of the Tikhvin Diocese.

Praying at the service were Abbess Sophia (Silina), abbess of the Resurrection Novodevichy monastery in St. Petersburg, and Abbess Georgiya (Alginina), abbess of the monastery dedicated to the Icon of the Mother of God “Tenderness” in Surgut. The solemn Divine service was attended by members of the government, deputies of the State and Regional Duma, representatives of public organizations and force structures, heads of municipalities, and representatives of business in Yugra.

During the Divine Liturgy, Metropolitan Pavel performed a priestly ordination.

Upon the end of the liturgy, a festive doxology was sung. Greetings to Metropolitan Pavel on his 70th birthday on behalf of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus’ were then read along with congratulations from the clergy and faithful of the Khanty-Mansi Diocese.

At the conclusion of the liturgical celebrations, Metropolitan Pavel addressed those gathered with a homily.

In all churches and monasteries, prayers are offered for the Primate of the Church, who was elected to the Patriarchal Throne of Moscow at the Local Council of 2009.

Patriarchal Exarch of Southeast Asia Performed Great Consecration of the Church of Icon of Mother of God “Quick to Hear” in the Philippines

On November 23, 2025, the 24th Sunday after Pentecost, on Panglao Island in the Philippines, the Patriarchal Exarch of Southeast Asia, Metropolitan Sergiy of Singapore and Southeast Asia, performed the great consecration of the church dedicated to the Icon of the Mother of God “Quick to Hear” and presided over the first Divine Liturgy in the newly consecrated church.
