On Forgiveness Sunday the Patriarchal Exarch of Southeast Asia celebrated the Divine Liturgy and Vespers with the Rite of Forgiveness at the Dormition Church in Singapore
On 22 February 2026, Cheesefare Sunday, the commemoration of Adam’s expulsion (Forgiveness Sunday), the Patriarchal Exarch of Southeast Asia, Metropolitan Sergiy of Singapore and Southeast Asia, celebrated the Divine Liturgy and Vespers with the Rite of Forgiveness at the Dormition Church in Singapore.
His Eminence was concelebrated by the clergy of the parish.
Upon the end of the Divine Liturgy, Vespers with the Rite of Forgiveness was served. After the dismissal of Vespers, the Archpastor read the prayer for the beginning of Great Lent.
At the end of the service, Metropolitan Sergiy addressed those gathered with a homily, offering guidance to the faithful for the coming period of Great Lent. In accordance with a centuries-old tradition, the participants in the service asked one another for forgiveness, preparing to enter the Holy Forty Days with pure hearts.
