On the Feast of St. Sergiy of Radonezh Hierarchs of Patriarchal Exarchate Concelebrated with Primate of Russian Church at Divine Liturgy in Holy Trinity-St. Sergiy Lavra

On 18 July 2026, the feast of the Uncovering of the Honourable Relics of Venerable Sergiy, Abbot of Radonezh (1422), His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus’ celebrated the Divine Liturgy on Cathedral Square of the Holy Trinity-St. Sergiy Lavra.

Concelebrating with His Holiness was an assembly of hierarchs of the Russian Orthodox Church, including Metropolitan Sergiy of Singapore and Southeast Asia, Patriarchal Exarch of Southeast Asia, and Metropolitan Pavel of Manila and Hanoi, ruling bishop of the Philippine-Vietnamese Diocese.

An Orthodox delegation from the Patriarchal Exarchate of Southeast Asia, representing the Republic of Indonesia and Malaysia, was present at the divine service. The purpose of the delegation’s visit to Russia is to venerate the holy sites and relics of the Russian Orthodox Church, participate in divine services, become acquainted with Russia’s historic and spiritual centers, and strengthen the fraternal ties between the Orthodox communities of Southeast Asia and the Russian Orthodox Church. The delegation includes representatives of Orthodox communities from these countries, including clergy of the Diocese of Singapore.

Following the Divine Liturgy, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill, members of the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church, and the hierarchs who had come to the monastery for the feast served a moleben to the Abbot of the Russian Land.

His Holiness then proceeded to the Trinity Cathedral of the monastery, where he venerated the honorable relics of Venerable Sergius and bowed before the icon of the Holy Trinity painted by Venerable Andrei Rublev. Afterwards, the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church delivered his Primatial address to the faithful.

Following the Divine Liturgy, a meeting between the Primate of the Russian Church and the delegation of the Patriarchal Exarchate of Southeast Asia took place in the Church of the Righteous Philaret the Merciful, located in the Patriarchal Chambers of the Lavra.
