Easter in South Korea
On the night of April 23-24, 2022, on the feast of the Holy Resurrection of Christ, Archbishop Theophan of Korea led the festive Easter services at the parish in honor of the Resurrection of Christ in Seoul.
The ruling bishop was assisted by Archpriest Pavel Kan and Deacon Nektary Lim.
According to the sacramental verse, the Paschal Epistle of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill was read out to the archpastors, pastors, deacons, monastics and all the faithful children of the Russian Orthodox Church.
Through the prayer beyond the ambo, Vladyka Theophan consecrated the artos, which will remain in the church throughout Bright Week.
Vladyka Theophan heartily congratulated the faithful on the great and bright feast of the Resurrection of the Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ and thanked everyone for their common prayer, after which he bestowed his archpastoral blessing on the parishioners. Then the consecration of the Easter food was performed.
On this joyful night, a solemn divine service on the occasion of the feast of the Lord’s Pascha was performed in the church in honor of the Nativity of the Most Holy Theotokos in the city of Busan. The service was performed by Hieromonk Pavel (Che).
