On the feast day of St. Vincent of Lerins, the Secretary of the Philippine-Vietnamese Diocese celebrated the Divine Liturgy in San Vicente Quinabalan, Philippines

The settlement is located high in the mountains, where there are no roads and civilization. There, the Orthodox priests were awaitef by the faithful of the parish in honor of Venerable Vincent of Lerinsk, so that together they could prayerfully honor the memory of the saint.

Saint Vincent was born in the city of Toul in the north-east of modern France. He was a brother of Saint Lupus. After serving in the army (lat. secularis militia) he entered the Lerins monastery of St. Honorat, where he received monastic vows. In 434, under the pseudonym Peregrine, he wrote his most famous work, Memoirs (lat. Commonitorium). He died in the reign of the emperors Theodosius II and Valentinian III, in 450 or earlier. St Vincent was highly appreciated by his contemporaries. Thus, St. Eucherius of Lyon called him a holy man, outstanding in eloquence and knowledge.
