Diocese of the Philippines resumes work on providing social assistance in the province of South Cotabato, Mindanao island

At the height of the pandemic in 2020, the feeding program was suspended and, after a two-year break, volunteers resumed work in the province of South Cotabato. At the beginning of July of this year, the sisterhood of General Santos organized a feeding in Apopong for the first time. Distribution of hot meals to children, pregnant women, nursing mothers and the elderly is carried out in the cities of Cayupo, Alabel and Kinabalan.

Social service in this region is carried out with the support of the head of the Department for Charity and Social Service of the Philippine-Vietnamese Diocese, Priest David Grubbs and his wife Irina Grubbs, coordinators of the Sisterhood of Mercy of the Holy Resurrection Parish in General Santos, philanthropists and volunteers.

You can support the works of mercy in the countries of South-East Asia on the website of the Patriarchal Exarchate in the “Donate” section.
