Metropolitan Sergiy of Singapore and South-East Asia meets with Minister of Hotels and Tourism of Myanmar
On May 5, 2023, the Patriarchal Exarch of South-East Asia, Metropolitan Sergiy of Singapore and South-East Asia met with the Minister of Hotels and Tourism of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, U Aung Thaw. The Union Minister, who is also the Chairman of the Myanmar-Russian Friendship Association, warmly welcomed the hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church and his entourage.
During the meeting, which was held in a warm and friendly atmosphere, the parties discussed various aspects of Russian-Myanmar humanitarian cooperation.
The meeting was also attended by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar N.A. Listopadov, Secretary of the Thai Diocese of the Patriarchal Exarchate of South-East Asia Archimandrite Oleg (Cherepanin), representative of the Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate D.I. Petrovsky, and Hierodeacon Juvenaly (Marushchak).
On the same day, the delegation of the Russian Orthodox Church returned to Yangon.
