On Forgiveness Sunday, Patriarchal Exarch for South-East Asia celebrated Divine Liturgy and Vespers with the Rite of Forgiveness at Dormition Church in Singapore
On March 17, 2024, Cheesefare Sunday, the commemoration of Adam’s exile, Forgiveness Sunday, the Patriarchal Exarch for South-East Asia, Metropolitan Sergiy of Singapore and South-East Asia, celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Church of the Dormition of the Most Holy Theotokos in Singapore. The day before, His Eminence celebrated the All-Night Vigil.
His Eminence was co-served by the clergy of the church.
Upon completion of Liturgy, the archpastor addressed the congregation with an exhortation for Great Lent. After that, Vespers were served with the Rite of Forgiveness. Then, according to tradition, the clergy and laity present in the church asked each other’s forgiveness in order to enter the spiritual realm of Great Lent in joy and peace.
